Evidence on food environments and ASF consumption in Tanzania is fragmented. Existing studies may focus on food security or dietary diversity, rather than food environment influences. A comprehensive mapping of evidence is missing, thus a scoping review is appropriate because of the broadness of the food environment concept, the big variation in- design, population, measurement methods and context of this topic and also because of the need to identify research gaps in this topic. The aim of this study is to map and synthesize available evidence on the relationship between the food environment and consumption of animal-sourced foods in Tanzania.
