Questo contributo esplora le pratiche di mappatura dei sistemi alimentari urbani, con un focus sulle città del Sud Globale. Basandosi sull’Urban Food Mapping Matrix di Bohn e Tomkins (2024), si evidenzia il potenziale delle mappature nel visualizzare i sistemi alimentari, affrontare le sfide legate alla sostenibilità e informare le politiche alimentari urbane. I casi studio in Tunisia, Cile e Kenya illustrano l’uso di metodi di mappatura diversificati, tra cui approcci partecipativi, analisi spaziali e strumenti innovativi. I risultati sottolineano l’adattabilità della mappatura a contesti differenti e il suo ruolo nella generazione di conoscenza, pianificazione strategica e collaborazione transnazionale per sistemi alimentari urbani più sostenibili.
