Every day, patients across Cameroon's cities make journeys that could be avoided, wait in queues longer than the consultations they eventually receive, and return home having visited the wrong facility for their condition. MboaMed is a digital health access platform conceived and developed independently to reduce these structural barriers through an integrated suite of tools including hospital discovery, physician directories, appointment scheduling, symptom guidance, pharmacy location, and emergency navigation. Built on React 18, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Shadcn UI, Supabase, and PostgreSQL, the platform is bilingual in French and English, optimized for mid-range Android devices, and publicly deployed. This perspective article documents the design philosophy, technical architecture, and public health implications of the platform, acknowledges its current limitations, and identifies priorities for future clinical validation and regulatory review.
