Mobile Tracking and ALT-PE: A Cluster-RCT on Motor Engagement and Physical Performance Among Moroccan Adolescents

This cluster-randomized controlled trial (n=295 Moroccan adolescents, 9 classes) examined effects of a 12-week multi-component mobile tracking ecosystem on behavioral engagement (Academic Learning Time in Physical Education - ALT-PE observation) and physical fitness outcomes. Experimental group (n=161) received mobile tracking applications (Strava, Google Fit, Samsung Health), individualized protocols, peer-pairing strategies, and WhatsApp support. Control group (n=134) continued traditional instruction. Results: +42.5% appropriate motor engagement, -52.9% passive waiting, +38-47% fitness improvements (all p<.001, large effect sizes).
