Non-Formal Vocational Education and its Influence on Human Capital Development in Uganda

This study investigated the relationship between youth in Northern Uganda's human capital development (HCD) and non-formal vocational education (NFVE). Data were obtained from 60 youths at four NFVE centers in Lira City using a mixed-methods technique. There was no discernible gender difference in productive ability, according to an independent t-test (t(58) = 1.04, p = .46). NFVE involvement and HCD were strongly positively correlated (r = 0.76, p < .05). Participants reported increased agricultural output, business expansion, and job placement. Results indicate that NFVE offers young people in post-conflict environments feasible economic options; however, replication is required for wider generalization.
