Notes on jumping spiders (Araneae: Salticidae) from the Usambara Mountains of Tanzania

Five species are described: Evarcha atra sp. n. (♀), Evarcha ignobilis sp. n. (♀), Pignus miraculosum sp. n. (♂), Thiratoscirtus amani sp. n. (♀) and Thiratoscirtus usambara sp. n. (♀). A new combination, Thiratoscirtus ramadanii comb. n. (ex Hyllus), is proposed. The latter species, previously known only from the type locality in the Mkomazi National Park, is also depicted and reported from the East Usambara Mountains, and a discussion about its systematic affinities is given. The list of jumping spiders from the Usambara Mountains is further supplemented by records of some known species, which brings the total of salticids reported from this mountain range to 23.
