Online data visualisation of: MNK Skull site T3 (Lower Paleolithic) using the archeoViz web application
MNK Skull is one of the most significant archaeological sites in Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania. This is where the Homo habilis taxon was originally defined from Louis Leakey's excavations in the 1960s. In 2010 and 2013, the site was rexcavated by Ignacio de la Torre and colleagues, who opened Trench 3 on 8x3 m. The data set presented here includes 982 objects, fossils remains, and modified and unmodified lithic remains. The types of lithic remains and raw materials are presented.
