Diabetes is strongly associated with a wide range of oral health conditions. The relationship between diabetes and oral health is bidirectional: poor glycemic control can exacerbate oral diseases, while existing oral health conditions can further impair glycemic management. Awareness about oral health and appropriate oral self-care practices are essential for improving the overall well-being of individuals with diabetes. Adequate awareness of oral health and the adoption of appropriate oral self-care practices are critical to enhancing the overall well-being of individuals living with diabetes. Despite regional variations, there is a universal need for enhanced education and integrated care approaches. Tailored healthcare strategies can enhance awareness and self-care behaviors to prevent oral health issues, improve diabetes management, and underscore the link between systemic and oral health. This study aimed to assess level of awareness regarding oral health, evaluate reported self-care practices, and identify factors associated with these practices among individuals living with diabetes in Western Amhara region. Data are presented in Stata DTA File and Microsoft Excel 97-2003 Worksheet formats.
