Training programme for community participation in health care is a project of development aid implemented jointly by Physicians for Social Responsibility in Finland and the Tanzanian Ministry of Health. The aim is to develop educational methods in health care, by training teachers to utilize the community approach and multisectoral cooperation. The project has published a book on community participation in Swahili and arranged workshops for teachers of health worker training institutions in all parts of Tanzania. This article evaluates the methods and outcome of the project.
