The recording at the center of this item is a funeral song. Amaylek was a paramount chief of Tonga. He ruled in a difficult time of famines; during the reign of King Gwang (1917-1944). He was a just chief and very hospitable, and taking care of orphans. Even Nuer people used to come from across the River Nile bringing their disputes to him for settlement.
