Panel Data on Financial Inclusion and Economic Growth in Africa (2010–2021)

This dataset contains an unbalanced panel of 44 African countries observed annually over the period 2010–2021, totaling 528 country-year observations. It was compiled to analyze the multidimensional impact of financial inclusion on economic growth using a System GMM dynamic panel approach.   The dataset includes: Financial inclusion indicators: Automated teller machines per 100,000 adults (ATM), Bank branches per 100,000 adults (BRANCH), Credit to private sector (% of GDP, CPS), and Domestic credit by the financial sector (% of GDP, DCF). Macroeconomic control variables: Real GDP growth rate (GDP_G), Real GDP per capita (GDPPC), Gross capital formation (% of GDP, INV), Inflation rate (INFL), Trade openness (% of GDP, OPEN), and Foreign direct investment inflows (% of GDP, FDI).   Data sources: World Bank's World Development Indicators (WDI) and the International Monetary Fund’s Financial Access Survey (FAS).
