Perinatal Depression in East Africa

Perinatal depression is a serious maternal mental health problem affecting up to 20% of women in developing countries. The purpose of this scoping review is to summarize the existing evidence on the process for screening and identifying symptoms of perinatal depression in East African women. The primary research question is: what barriers prevent health care workers in East Africa from identifying perinatal depression?
