Master builder Osofo Kwame Mensah places balls of moist kneaded earth in a wall notch as he raises the level of the wall where a fabricated wood window frame will be placed in a structure being built on the grounds of the Banda Cultural Centre. EMKP researcher Zonke Guddah asks questions in Twi and the builder responds in Nafaanra. Builders Kwaku Nsuah and Kwabena Donkor assist as the master builder tests the placement of the wood window frame. They use a level to gauge its position, after which the builder hammers long nails into the sides and top of the window frame that will anchor it into the walls. With the window level and in place, the builders add earthen material along its sides, using their hands to slap material into spaces between balls of earthen material. The builders respond to greetings from passersby in Nafaanra as they work. Banda-Ahenkro, Banda District, Ghana.
