This paper presents the first description of polar and wh- interrogatives in EkhwaAdara. In Ekhwa Adara, polar questions are optionally marked by sentence-initialQ particles and involve final-vowel lengthening and L% boundary tones, while wh-question formation involves optional wh- movement where the wh- item obligatorily precedes a predetermined focus particle. Long-distance wh- movement ispossible and requires pronominal resumption. Partial wh- movement is also possible but seemingly does not require pronominal resumption. Indirect questions areformed via relativization, except when embedded under ‘ask’. Multiple wh-questions exhibit an absence of superiority effects and multiple wh- fronting might beavailable, albeit possibly constrained by an anti-superiority condition.
