This work aims to analyze the rhetoric used by those in power in the US and Senegal to discuss the issue of migration. It analyzes the policies enacted during the years 2018-2022, and the statements made by influential policymakers and migrants. Ultimately, it aims to highlight the larger implications of global power dynamics through the lens of this issue.
