Pregnant Women's Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Caesarean Section at Bosaso General Hospital, Somalia: A Cross-Sectional Study

This dataset and supporting research materials accompany the study “Pregnant Women’s Perceptions and Attitudes Toward Caesarean Section at Bosaso General Hospital, Somalia: A Cross-Sectional Study.” The study was a hospital-based cross-sectional survey conducted among 384 adult pregnant women attending Bosaso General Hospital between 1 January and 15 March 2026. The repository includes the de-identified dataset, questionnaire, codebook, reproducibility code, and four study figures. The analysis assessed demographic and obstetric characteristics, perceptions, and attitudes toward caesarean section using descriptive statistics and chi-square tests in Python with pandas and SciPy. The nine knowledge items (Q7–Q15) were excluded from substantive analysis because identical response patterns were identified across the items for all participants.
