The objective of the study was to investigate the productivity and efficiency effect of Integrated Pest Management Technology Adoption among Maize Farmers in Southwest, Nigeria. The research estimated the technical efficiency, allocative efficiency and economic efficiency; also examined the effects IPM adoption on maize productivity. Multistage random sampling technique was used to select a total of two hundred farmers from whom primary data were collected using a structured questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, stochastic frontier function and instrumentation, Stochastic frontier production function estimates showed that the mean technical efficiency is 80.16% for all respondents. The allocative efficiency of the land rent was 0.188 and was significant at 1 percent, the mean allocative efficiency was 106.8% and the mean economic efficiency was 85.7% for adopting IPM by maize farmers in the study area. The LATE estimate was carried out for the outcome (productivity). The Average Treatment Effect (ATE) in the entire population was 239.54 kg/ha, the ATEI on the sub-population of adopters was 267.34. This implies that the adopters had an increase of 267.34 kg/ha in maize productivity. Also, the LATE estimates suggest that the adoption of Integrated Pest Management Techniques significantly increases maize productivity by 318.29 kg/ha. This could be interpreted as the change in maize productivity that is attributed to a change in improved agricultural technology.
