While Ebola virus disease (EVD) was historically characterized by rapid, high mortality rates, recent outbreaks across Sub-Saharan Africa have yielded an unprecedented number of clinical survivors. Although initial public health efforts prioritized acute containment and patient survival, long-term recovery is heavily burdened by Post-Ebola Syndrome (PES)—a debilitating multi-systemic clinical and behavioral condition. This systematic scoping review synthesizes empirical evidence on the long-term health-related quality of life (HRQoL) trajectories of African EVD survivors, evaluating physical, psychological, social, and environmental outcomes.
