Microdata-free research compendium containing Python analysis code, input-integrity tests, specifications and recode documentation, aggregate results, validation records, and metadata for RC17, the repeated-cross-sectional comparison of Arab Barometer Waves VII and VIII for Tunisia. RC17 supports the manuscript “Formal Protection and Practical Enforceability: Freedom of Expression in Tunisia after the 2011 Revolution” by Baraa Abbes; it is not the manuscript’s principal inferential basis and does not identify causal institutional effects. The four outcomes are opinion expression, peaceful protest, media freedom to criticize government, and press freedom. Reproduction requires independently obtained Wave VII English Version 6 and Wave VIII English Version 3 respondent CSVs matching the documented SHA-256 hashes. Respondent microdata, provider archives, questionnaires, codebooks, and other third-party materials are excluded. Python is the preserved executable workflow. Independent validation in R 4.5.3 with survey 4.5 on 2 September 2026 is documented, but its original executable script and session were not preserved. Two robustness routines were subsequently reconstructed in Python from the documented specifications. This package makes no claim that the related manuscript has been accepted or published. MIT covers only eligible author-created package materials; it grants no rights to Arab Barometer or other third-party materials. No financial support was received for the research.
