The data was collected to investigate the prevalence of use of different anti-hypertensive agents in pregnancy, and the level of adherence to obstetric care guidelines in a LMIC setting. It includes both quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data was retrospectively abstracted from patient files at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi over the clinical period of 1st January to 31st December 2024 and contains information on: patient demographics; clinical/laboratory parameters; obstetric history; medical history; medicine use and guideline adherence. The qualitative data contains transcripts from in-depth interviews with patients key informant interviews with clinicians, exploring the impact of a hypertensive disorder of pregnancy diagnosis, perceptions on treatment with anti-hypertensive agents and perceptions on the health outcomes associated with treatment.
