Replication Data for: Landscape Position, Targeted advisories and the Profitability of Fertilizer Use: Evidence from Ethiopia

The datasets are associated with a study on landscape position, targeted advisories and the profitability of fertilizer use in Ethiopia. The datasets are from on-farm validation trials, a farm-household survey, and secondary sources. The on-farm validation trials were conducted in 2021. The farm-household survey was implemented in 2023 among a random sample of about 1000 cereal-producing households across eight districts in Amhara, Oromia and SNNP regions. The on-farm trials and farm-household survey were conducted under the CGIAR Excellence in Agronomy (EiA) initiative. The datasets from secondary sources include teff and wheat market prices from the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET), fertilizer market prices from africafertilizer.org., geospatial soil properties data at 30-meter spatial resolution from Innovative Solutions for Decision Agriculture (iSDA), and rainfall data from the Climate Hazards Group Infrared Precipitation with Stations (CHIRPS).
