REPLICATION-FILES FOR: Migration and social connections: Evidence from 145 Senegalese villages

Replication package for "Migration and social connections: Evidence from 145 Senegalese villages" (Beber, Ebert, Murken, and Riaz; World Bank Economic Review, 2026). Sampled Universe: 145 rural villages in Senegal, sampled as: a nationally representative sample (35 villages), representative samples from Kaolack, Matam, and Sedhiou (30 each), and 10 NGO-intervention villages in Thiès/Diourbel plus 10 matched villages. Urban communes, Dakar, and border-security departments are excluded. All households in sampled villages were enumerated (9,355 households). Sampling: Villages were stratified by location (within district for the three focus departments, within region for the national sample) and drawn from a frame of 3,082 rural villages. Within villages, all households were targeted for full census enumeration; a subsample of about half (stratified by recent migration experience, under-sampling recent migrant households ~2×) was drawn for the transfers module.
