Reproducible bibliometric analysis for the ECHO study of local e-participation (Scopus, N=90)

This repository contains the data and code needed to reproduce every quantitative figure reported in the manuscript "When the Voice Finds an Echo: Political Will, Algorithmic Logic, and the Activation of Local E-Participation. A systematic bibliometric review and the ECHO conceptual model" (Ahmed Mbarki & Mohamed Jallal El Adnani, Faculty of Economics and Management, Sultan Moulay Slimane University, Beni Mellal, Morocco). Contents: a Python script (echo_bibliometric_analysis.py) performing deterministic counting and cross-tabulation on a Scopus metadata export (scopus_export_ECHO.csv, search run on 3 July 2026), and a README describing the corpus construction and how to reproduce the analysis. All operations are deterministic (counting and cross-tabulation only); there is no interpretive or generative step. Running the script on the CSV reproduces the final analytical corpus of N = 90 articles and the 283 distinct author keywords reported in the manuscript, including the central empirical finding: the complete absence, across all author keywords, of vocabulary describing the algorithmic processing of citizen contributions (algorithmic, weighting, valorisation, ranking, black box). Use of AI-assisted tools: Claude Opus 4.8 (Anthropic; June–July 2026) was used to help write and debug this script and for language editing of the manuscript. The computations are deterministic and reproducible from the CSV; the tools were not used to analyse content or to generate the study's findings or conclusions.
