This project aims to develop a robust system for detecting drug cultivation in Egypt using satellite imagery and spectral analysis techniques. By leveraging advanced remote sensing technologies, the project seeks to provide accurate and reliable data that assist Egyptian authorities, including the Ministry of Interior and the General Administration for Drug Control, in identifying and monitoring illicit agricultural activities. The methodology involves the collection and analysis of high-resolution satellite data, utilizing various spectral indices, such as the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). Additionally, machine learning algorithms will be applied to enhance detection accuracy and differentiate drug plants from other vegetation. This innovative approach will enable the timely detection of drug cultivation sites, contributing significantly to national security efforts. The expected outcomes include the production of detailed maps highlighting areas of concern and providing actionable insights for law enforcement agencies. Ultimately, this project reflects a commitment to using technology to address pressing challenges in agricultural security and public safety in Egypt.
