This paper aimed to find out the Impact of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching and learning in Senior Secondary Schools in Zaria Local Government Area, Kaduna State. To guide this research, three research objectives are formed, questions, and hypotheses were formulated in line with the research objectives. The target population of the study is one thousand six hundred and sixty-six (1666) involving teachers and students from five public Senior Secondary Schools in Zaria local government. A sample size of three hundred and thirteen (313) students and a total number of one hundred and eighty (180) teachers was drawn from the mother population which is, one third (1/3) of the population, as in line with Adetoro (1986). A sample of one-third (1/3) can be used as appropriate for any given population. The research instrument was validated by experts. The reliability of the instrument was established and structured questionnaire was used as the main instrument to gather data from one hundred and nineteen (119) respondents of which ninety one (91) questionnaire was returned and completed while twenty-eight (28) questionnaires from the respondents were not completed and returned, which was used to analysed using mean and standard deviation while Chi- square statistics was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that: There is a great impact of information and communication technology tools on teaching and learning in junior secondary schools in Zaria local government. The result shows that the Impact of ICT instructional tools is positive and has a significant impact, P .002; therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected. The use of ICT have a positive and significant impact as P=.000, thus, the null hypothesis was rejected. Poor infrastructural facilities have a positive and significant impact with P=.000, thus, the null hypothesis was rejected. Based on these findings, the study recommended that, use of Information and communication technology tools in teaching and learning can improve teaching and learning in junior secondary school, it assist the teacher in identifying the latest teaching techniques to promote the knowledge of students in junior secondary school.
