This dataset reports the findings of a maize-haricotbean intercropping field experiment conducted at Hawassa, Ethiopia during the 2024 cropping season to evaluate the effects of vermicompost, Rhizobium inoculation and phosphorous fertilizer on the growth, yield and yield traits of common bean and maize, and selected soil physico- chemical properties. A factorial combination of two Vermicompost(VC)rates (0, 2.5 t/ha), two phosphorous rates (0 and 20 kg/ha) and Rhizobium inoculation (Inoculated and Uninoculated) were laid out in RCB design in factorial arrangement with three replications. Representative soil samples from each plot were taken after harvest from the depths of 0-30cm and were analyzed for treatment effects on soil physico-chemical properties. Growth and yield data were also collected at harvest.
