This open digital collection contains selected field documentation, manuscript images, and contextual photographs related to the life and works of Sheikh Mahmud Suleiman (d. 20th century), a prominent Tijaniyya scholar from the Gibe region of southwest Ethiopia. Materials were collected during field research conducted between 2023 and 2024 in Jimma, Agaro, Dedo, and surrounding localities. The dataset includes high-resolution images of handwritten folios, transliteration and translation excerpts, and brief field notes describing custodial contexts and preservation conditions. The repository aims to support ongoing scholarship on Ethiopian Islamic intellectual history, Ajami literature, and the material culture of Sufi learning.
