Sign-IO

Sign-IO is an assistive wearable technology that translates sign language to speech.

Sign-IO's flagship is a sign language to speech translation glove that aims to assist individuals with a speech impairment(deaf or mute) to communicate with the general public.

The innovation was crowned the best overall innovation for social impact at the 2017 edition of the American Society for Mechanical Engineers(ASME) ISHOW competition in New York. Sign-IO also placed 2nd runners-up at The Royal Academy of Engineering Leaders in Innovation Fellowship in London and placed runners-up at the Royal Academy of Engineering Africa Prize for Engineering 2019 finals.
