Smart migration: leveraging digital tools for inclusive migration governance and workforce integration in South Africa.

This is a qualitative data on Smart Migration and digital nomadism along with work force integration in South Africa using in-depth, semi-structured interviews as data collection instruments. The thematic analysis approach used ATLAS.ti 9 social statistical software for analysis and interpretation after transcribing the data was employed.  

Six themes themes were developed to achieve the objective of assessing the present state of academic literature on Smart Migration Governance and digital nomadism from both a global and South African perspective, exploring the present and possible future roles of digital tools in South African migration management, measuring the extent of digital use in integrating migrant and indigenous South African workers into the formal and informal workspace in South Africa, and determining the socio-economic impact of digital nomads in South Africa. The themes highlight collaborative best practices, Fiscal Policy, Total Human Development Index, Local Public Policy Making, Crisis and Disaster Management, and Total provincial development.
