This dataset supports the manuscript titled “Soil Carbon–Nitrogen Pools and Soil Health Across Contrasting Land Uses and a No-Till Conservation Chronosequence in a Tropical Guinea Savanna Agroecosystem.” The dataset contains soil carbon–nitrogen pools, carbon and nitrogen stocks, soil physical indicators, water-regulation variables and chemical fertility attributes measured across conventionally managed arable land, no-till-based conservation systems established for 2, 4, 7 and 10 years, and natural forest land at the IITA Ibadan campus, southwestern Nigeria. Soil samples were collected at 0–5 and 5–10 cm depths. Variables include total organic carbon, total nitrogen, particulate and non-particulate carbon and nitrogen fractions, bulk density, aggregate stability, available water-holding capacity, field capacity, permanent wilting point, saturated hydraulic conductivity, pH, electrical conductivity, available phosphorus, cation exchange capacity, rooting depth and leaching potential. The dataset also includes land-use identifiers, soil depth classes and replicate information used for statistical analysis.
