STATA code to analyse herd types in the ImpactLITE dataset

This is the code regarding the following publication:Saral Lena Graf and Mizeck Chagunda (2026): Classifying herd management systems in Sub-Sahara Africa (Accepted at: Agronomy for Sustainable Development) The code classifies the livestock in the ImpactLite dataset into Herd Management Systems and performs some simple statistics on the sample. The ImpactLite dataset is available here:ILRI (2010) IMPACTLite Tool. ILRI. data.ilri.org Accessed on 27.06.2026 Please be aware, that the data for the different ImpactLITE sites are structured a little differently, which means the code for each site varies slightly (including the number of datasets used for classification).
