Survey on cocoa farmers' willingness and ability to invest in solar irrigation in Ghana

This is primary data collected from cocoa farmers in 11 cocoa districts across 5 Ghana cocoa-producing regions ((Ashanti, Western South, Western North, Bono and Ahafo ). The data was used to analyze cocoa farmers' willingness to invest and their ability to invest in solar-based irrigation technology in Ghana. Willingness and ability to invest define effective demand, which is necessary to design appropriate business and financing models for solar-powered irrigation pumps among cocoa growers. Data are grouped as follows: Section A and B provides information on household characteristics; Section C on agricultural land; Section D on cocoa production; section E1 on other crops production; E2 on crop inputs, F on labor cost; G on crop sales; H on elicitation of willingness and ability to invest; I on livestock ownership; J on other income sources; K on the business environment and farmer innovation adoption experience; L1 and L2 on credit information; M on irrigation; N on financing arrangement for solar pump and section O on household's physical capital.
