The analytical tool was Systemic Functional Grammar Theory by [16]. A qualitative descriptive research design was used to collect and analyze data. The Data was collected using document analysis guide tool through the technique of text selection method on Kidawida written books. Sentences having Kidawida subordinate clauses were extracted from the five selected texts: Chughano ra Kidawida, Midedo ya Kidawida, Ndawi ra Wadawida, Taita Beginners Guide Book, and Wadawida: Writings on the Customs of Taita. A purposive sampling technique was adopted to select 30 subordinate clauses across these texts. Ten of these clauses were used for discussion.
