The teaching of Geography in higher education has undergone significant transformations in response to contemporary social, environmental, and technological dynamics. This study aims to highlight the importance of Geography didactics in teaching this discipline as a guarantee for the training of future teachers in Angola. The research adopts a qualitative approach, based on a literature review, integrating epistemological, pedagogical, and contextual perspectives on the teaching of Geography. The results show that the teaching process is still strongly influenced by traditional methodologies, centered on the transmission of content and with limited articulation between theory and practice. Additionally, structural challenges in Angolan higher education, such as institutional weaknesses and insufficient teacher training, compromise the quality of the training process. It is concluded that strengthening Geography didactics, through the adoption of active methodologies, integration of educational technologies, and critical approaches, constitutes a fundamental element for improving teacher training and promoting meaningful learning.
