Abstract A number of American universities and other educational agencies are presently involved in the development of educational programs in the emerging nations of the world. Based‐on recent news reports from Washington, there will apparently be encouragement from the federal government for American educators and educational institutions to provide more of this kind of foreign aid. This article describes the science curriculum which Professor Fletcher Watson and his associates have prepared for the Comprehensive Secondary School in Western Nigeria. It was prepared as a working paper in November, 1962, in anticipation of the school's opening early in 1968. Professor Watson has agreed to provide additional reports for JRST readers on the evolution of the instructional program and the special problems encountered. These will be published in later issues of JRST.
