The economic value of Open Data and the National Academic Digital Repository of Ethiopia (updated)

The presentation addresses the concepts of Open Innovation and Open Data and presents the economic value of the latter. Then, it presents the initiative aiming at establishing the National Academic Digital Repository of Ethiopia (NADRE) and its importance as driver of a Digital Economy in the country. The presentation was given at the 5th National Conference of the University Industry Linkage (UIL), which was held in Gondar on February 23-24, 2018 under the aegis of the Gondar Institute of Technology at the University of Gondar and in collaboration with the Sustainable Training and Education Program of GIZ (STEP-GIZ). The theme of the conference was "Coordinated University–TVET–Industry Cooperation for Ethiopia’s Industrialization".
