FinTech firms play an increasingly important role in the transformation of the banking sector by supporting the diffusion of digital technologies and reshaping traditional financial practices. This evolution raises major issues related to innovation, service digitalization, and the adaptation of banking models, particularly in emerging economies such as Morocco, where interactions between FinTech firms and banks remain insufficiently and unsystematically documented in the scientific literature. This study aims to analyze the evolution and structuring of scientific research on the impact of FinTech firms on the banking sector over the period 2016-2025. It is based on a Systematic Quantitative Literature Review (SQLR) combined with a bibliometric analysis conducted in accordance with the PRISMA protocol. Data were extracted from the Scopus database and analyzed using VOSviewer (version 1.6.20). The results reveal a rapidly expanding research dynamic, which intensified markedly after 2020. Several studies are frequently cited in the literature, notably Zhao et al. (2022), Phan et al. (2020), and Jakšič and Marinč (2019). Institutional analysis identifies Bina Nusantara University, CNRS, and LUISS University among the most productive institutions. The geographical distribution highlights the strong presence of India, the United States, and the United Kingdom, while the analysis of scientific collaborations reveals a structured international network, particularly centered around the United Kingdom, Australia, and China. Author analysis distinguishes productive profiles such as Del Gaudio, B. L. and Previtali, D., as well as highly cited authors including Lee, C., Yu, C., and Zhao, J., while co-citation analysis highlights an intellectual core structured around Berger, A. N., Adams, R. B., and Boot, A. W. A. Keyword co-occurrence analysis underscores the recurrence of the terms “FinTech,” “Banking,” and “Financial Technology,” frequently associated with “Artificial Intelligence,” “Finance,” “Financial Inclusion,” and “Innovation,” reflecting the multidimensional nature of current research. Overall, this study provides a synthetic mapping of the scientific field related to FinTech firms and the banking sector. It highlights the relevance of developing context-specific empirical research, particularly in the Moroccan context, in order to more precisely analyze the role of FinTech firms in the digitalization of banking services and the strategic adaptation of banks.
