This book chapter aims to assess the impact of conflict on libraries and archives in the DRC and Mali, to identify the development reconstruction processes of libraries and archives materials in both countries. It will draw lessons from the experience of war in both countries. It shows that civil war in both countries does affect libraries and archive collections. The chapter asserts the importance of adopting strategies and policies to preserve endangered archives African countries. Cooperation and community strategy is critical to be developed to ensure that archive materials in Africa are developed.
