The 'Men and Tree' task 0136-The 'Men and Tree' task A description and documentation of Avatime

Kennedy and Richard do the MPI for Psycholinguistic's 'men and tree' task. They then talk about what they did yesterday and how they would like to stay close friends in the future.The men and tree task consists of 4 sets of pictures of toy men and trees and other objects arranged in different spatial configurations. There are 2 copies of each set. One speaker has a full set and the other has only half the pictures of that set. They sit next to each other but cannot see each other's pictures. It is the task of the person who has all pictures to find out through questions which pictures the other person has. English was the language of discussions and elicitation, Avatime was the target language.Kennedy and Richard take turns as director and matcher.
