Using the techniques of narrative journalism, this nonfiction long-form story chronicles the International Strategic Crisis Negotiation Exercise that took place at the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin on February 6-8, 2020. The report follows Master of Global Policy Studies students through the 48-hour simulated international summit centered on the ongoing conflict between Sudan and South Sudan, illustrating the issues fueling the war as well as the key components of diplomatic negotiation.
