Laughter expressions have become indispensable elements in everyday online communication currently. ‘Ha ha ha’ has risen as a multifunctional interjection that has evolved beyond the expression of mere amusement within the online English community. This research, which is grounded within the field of Pragmatics and Sociolinguistics, aims to analyse the communicative functions of ‘ha ha ha’ in the Global Web-Based English Corpora (GloWbE), placing the focus on the Englishes used in the USA, the UK, Nigeria, and India.
