The role of father involvement in mitigating impact of maternal depression on child nutrition: A cross-sectional study in rural Malawi

This cross-sectional study was conducted between June 24 and July 25, 2019, as part of the baseline survey for a parenting education program in the Traditional Authority Chimutu, a rural area of Lilongwe District, Malawi. The baseline survey collected information on parenting practices, household characteristics, and child well-being. For this study, we restricted the sample to mothers who were formally married or co-residing with the child’s father for at least the past 12 months (N=333). The study was approved by the National Health Sciences Research Committee (NHSRC) on January 28, 2019 (Approval Number: 2150) and was conducted in accordance with relevant ethical guidelines.
