Higher education is undergoing rapid transformation due to changing societal demands, technological advancement, increased accountability expectations, and the need to prepare graduates capable of addressing contemporary challenges. In this context, quality assurance has evolved beyond a regulatory obligation into a strategic tool for institutional improvement, academic excellence, innovation, and public confidence. This conference provides a platform for researchers, academics, and professionals to share knowledge, experiences, and innovative approaches towards strengthening higher education systems. The abstracts presented in this volume address important areas including quality assurance frameworks, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, governance, curriculum innovation, teaching and learning, postgraduate education, and sustainable development. A significant feature of this collection is its attention to African realities and the practical strategies required to enhance quality within diverse institutional contexts. The contributions highlight that sustainable quality improvement depends on effective leadership, collaboration, ethical adoption of emerging technologies, strong governance structures, institutional capacity development, and a continuous culture of improvement. We hope that this book will inspire further research, dialogue, and collaboration among stakeholders committed to advancing higher education across Africa and beyond. The ideas presented provide valuable insights into building resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive higher education systems.
