She is talking about the importance of "mbilim" The project’s aim is to document cultural events in Cangin, a dialect of Noon (ISO 639-3:snf), whose population is estimated at 9000. Noon is spoken in the Thiès area, a region in the west of Senegal (14°48'0""N / 16°56'0""W). Their culture is very different from that of surrounding groups. This culture is being lost, and the project focuses on documenting ceremonial performances and cultural knowledge in order to preserve a record of a unique culture. The corpus will further contribute to the speech communities’ efforts to maintain and strengthen their language and culture. Collection 4: a ceremony of mbilim and interviews. It includes videos, audios, images, Elan files and the metadata. The ceremony of mbilim is organized by the members of fan's club Djiby Faye in Laalaane every Easter Monday in order to raise funds for charity within the noon communities. Access date: 2013-04-23. Access is open to users. Conversation about divination Conversation about Divination This is an interview with Ngone Tine about the ceremony of "mbilim" and the "mbilim".
