An illustration of the "ngwai" genre (i.e., the town-cry). The two speakers perform typical town-cries of Kwo and of Dorok. This project documents the Goemai language (Afroasiatic, Chadic, West Chadic A, Angas-Goemai, Southern branch; spoken in Central Nigeria) in the form of a comprehensive reference grammar, a dictionary and an annotated corpus of natural texts. A. performs the Kwo town-cry first (in O04ANgwai1), and N. then performs the Dorok town-cry (in O04NNgwai2).
