ABSTRACT Spanish and Wolof are both genetically distant but which are in contact in Senegal and influence each other. In this study we have identified the similarities and differences of both of them on the prosodic level by focusing on the accent. This work has shown that in wolof the accent is fixed while in Spanish the accent is mobile. The interesting results of this study reveal transfers of Wolof accent habits among Spanish learners.
