The recording at the center of this item is a song. The song is a funeral song of Wol Awang, the chief of Alyebjok of Ayijdhajo Village in Tungo. The composer is one of the dead man’s sons; his name is Obyel Wol. The composer says that this song came to him at night in a dream. In this song he stressed that his father who ruled for a long time was a good chief who can’t be replaced. And that there is nothing good even if the village prospers but has no good chief. The warriors of that generation in Ayijdhajo called themselves 'kwec' (leopard). Obongo is the spotted and it means kwec/leopard. So 'Obongi Anyong' literally means the spotted/leopard of Anyong.
