The rhizome of Elephanrorrhiza elephantina (eland's bean, elandsboontjie) is used for tanning and dyeing skins. The root is peeled and the inner part stamped and soaked in water. The singular form in the West !Xoon variety is "si||ahri", the plural form is "si||ahrukee".
