This reproducibility archive contains the complete computational and data package supporting the manuscript “Two Divergent Methane-Transition Pathways in Africa, 1970–2024: Sectoral Restructuring, Aggregation Bias, and Emissions Intensity.” The archive contains the analysis source code, raw source datasets, processed analytical datasets, figures, supplementary tables, manuscript materials, documentation, software requirements, and citation metadata required to reproduce the reported analyses. The study examines methane emissions across 53 sovereign African countries over 1970–2024 using methane emissions data from the EDGAR Community GHG Database and socioeconomic indicators from the World Bank World Development Indicators. The computational workflow includes data preparation, sectoral aggregation, methane sectoral transition analysis, trend testing, clustering, aggregation-bias analysis, per-capita and emissions-intensity analysis, Tapio decoupling analysis, panel regression, convergence analysis, change-point analysis, sensitivity analysis, and supplementary analyses. This Zenodo record constitutes the permanent archival version of the research materials associated with the project's GitHub repository. The GitHub repository provides the actively maintained computational workflow and derived analytical materials, while this Zenodo archive preserves the complete reproducibility package, including the source datasets required for full reproduction. The original EDGAR and World Bank data sources should be appropriately acknowledged when the source or derived datasets are reused. Detailed source information, licensing, attribution requirements, and acquisition information are provided in DATA_LICENSE.md and docs/ACQUISITION.md within the archive.
