Urban food security programmes in Accra, Ghana have been implemented to address high levels of food insecurity among urban populations. These initiatives aim to improve access to nutritious and affordable food sources. No empirical results are presented; instead, this study employs a qualitative analysis to explore existing literature and propose an analytical model for future research. A comprehensive theoretical framework is essential to guide the design and evaluation of future urban food security initiatives in Accra. Urban policymakers should prioritise community-based interventions, strengthen market ties with local producers, and integrate nutrition education into programmes to enhance their impact on reducing food insecurity.
